One of the best wrestling teams in the Niagara Frontier League are in unfamiliar territory this season. It is a place they haven’t been very often in recent years but they are there this year, a rebuilding season.
Since the NYSPHSAA dual tournament was implemented in 2016, Niagara Wheatfield has dominated the Section VI duals by winning five Section VI Division I dual championships in eight seasons, including the last three. And they have produced 17 individual state qualifiers the past three years.
