Cortland, NY – The Lakers were on the road once again at fellow SUNYAC member Cortland for their annual quad meet. The Lakers took on TCNJ, Delaware Valley, and Cortland all in one afternoon this Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Oswego State men's wrestling team battled through a tough dual against nationally ranked TCNJ, falling by a final score of 36–9. The Lakers found momentum in the middle weights, picking up three consecutive victories to narrow the gap. At 165 pounds, David Hammerle earned a hard-fought 9–7 decision over Nick Acque to put Oswego on the board. Jayden Kiell followed with a strong offensive showing at 174, securing a 13–8 decision against Jack Miller, before Avery Canzano capped the Lakers' run with a 13–9 win over Ethan Dalling at 184. TCNJ controlled the early and late portions of the dual with bonus-point wins, including pins and technical falls, to seal the outcome.

The Lakers earned a convincing 37–16 victory over Delaware Valley. After DV claimed the opening bout at 125, Oswego quickly responded with back-to-back forfeits at 133 and 141 to take control of the dual. The Lakers continued to build momentum at 149 as Donovan Rail secured a dominant technical fall in 2:59, followed by a pin from Steven Ventricelli at 157 to extend the lead. Oswego added key wins in the upper weights, highlighted by Jayden Kiell's 15–6 major decision at 174 and Avery Canzano's 17–5 major decision at 184. Kevin Arriaza added to the team total with a forfeit win at 197, sealing the dual victory before the final bout. In the extra match, Chris Coleman capped the night with an emphatic pin at 1:17.

In the upper weights, Avery Canzano delivered a dominant performance at 184 pounds, earning an 11–0 major decision over Brady Curry to add valuable team points. Despite those efforts, Cortland capitalized in several bouts with technical falls and pins to maintain control of the dual.

Oswego State also used the extra matches to gain valuable mat time against strong regional competition. Shaquille Daniel highlighted the additional bouts for the Lakers with an impressive 11–2 major decision at 174 pounds, showing control from start to finish.
