Frank Popolizio
Frank Popolizio was coached by Section II legend Joe Bena at Niskayuna High School and would later develop into one of the best coaches and promoter of the sport of wrestling. Frank started the Journeymen Wrestling Club in 1999 and was instrumental in bringing Division I wrestling to the Capital region. This year he was selected one of the coaches for the USA Cadet team and directed the first dual meet that was contested out of the United States, The Tussle of the Troops. In that match Oklahoma State wrestled Frank's brother's team, the Wolfpack of North Carolina State. Additionally, he is the assistant coach at Shenendehowa High School where in the 2008-09 season he was awarded the NY State Assistant Coach of the Year honor. Click for larger image.






The National Wrestling Hall of Fame of the Upstate New York State Chapter will induct their new members into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Lifetime Service Award winners, honor this year's recipients of the Outstanding American Award, the Stanbro Media Award as well as the yearly Volunteer Award winners.
