Meanwhile, Dane Heberlein further cemented his legacy as one of the top grapplers in recent Section V history.
Byron-Bergen had four individual sectional champions — including the Most Oustanding Wrestler in the Upper Weights in Will Thompson — as it edged second-place Canisteo-Greenwood 187.5-185 to take the crown under head coach Rich Hannan yet again.

It's safe to say that the Batavia and Attica grappler merger was a success.
The Blue Devils picked up four individual sectional winners as they easily out-pointed second-place Midlakes 242-179; Wayne was third with 165, Waterloo took fourth with 137 and Hornell was fifth with 117.

The Perry wrestling team had a successful weekend at the Class B sectional tournament in Keshequa. Perry finished third as a team out of 16 teams.
Eleven Yellowjackets qualified for the SuperSectional tournament by placing in the top 6 at sectionals.
