ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Tech and West High each will have
five and Kodak and Charlotte each one representative in the finals of the city
interscholastic wrestling tournament to-night as a result of the preliminary and
semi-final rounds held yesterday afternoon and evening in the gymnasium of the
Madison Junior High School. The finals will be held to-night at the same place,
starting at 8 o'clock. Winners will hold the city title in their respective
classes for the coming year.
The finalists to-night are: 105-pound class, Vallone, West, vs.
Mooney, Charlotte; 112-pound class,
Newcomb (Tech) vs. Shapiro (East);
118-pound class,
Benz, East, vs. Chaffrey, Tech;
126-pound class,
Bradbury, Tech, vs. Davidson, East; 135-pound
class,
Krank, West, vs. Feary, Tech;
147-pound class,
Miller, Kodak, vs. Knight, West; 160-pound
class,
Kress, Tech, vs.
Okuniewicz, East; 175-pound class,
Felli, West, vs. Krepeck, East; unlimited, Goldstein, East,
vs. Wolff, West.
Kress Shows Class.
The matches yesterday afternoon and evening drew good sized crowds both
afternoon and evening and brought out some good mat work. Krank, of West High,
who was forced to defeat three men to enter the finals, and the work of Johnny
Kress, Tech High captain, were the outstanding features. Kress looked the
cleverest man on the mat in defeating Hooker, of West, who provided a good fight
but who could not withstand the experience of the Tech veteran. Kress will get a
good opponent in
Okuniewicz, of East, but
should retain his city crown for the 160-pound class.
The unlimited class drew only two entries, Goldstein and Wolff, who are paired
in the finals this evening. Miller, the sole Kodak High finalist, won from
Emanual in the afternoon and from Stelljis, of West, at night. He has a good
chance of annexing the title in that class, although Knight, his west side
opponent, is the favorite.
