ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Some fast matches featured the semi-finals of the scholastic mat tournament
yesterday afternoon at the Central "Y." Competition was keen and after the
elimination on Tuesday afternoon the wrestlers who met yesterday were more
evenly matched. Several of the bouts went the time limit before a decision could
be rendered. The finals of the tourney will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock
at Monroe High.
In the 105-pound class, Robinson, of Tech, worked his way into the finals by
earning a judge's decision over Bates, of West High, after ten minutes of
wrestling. This was Robinson's second victory of the day as he had already scored
a fall over Jones, of Charlotte. Vallone, another West High man in the 105-pound
class, threw Bell, of Tech thereby earning the right to meet Robinson in the
finals to-day.
Brucker, of East, and Ebner, of Tech both took their matches by decisions in the
112-pound class. Brucker won over Bates after six minutes of wrestling while
Ebner was forced to wrestle an extra period to win over Barons, of West. Both
matches in the 126-pound class were decided by the judge's. Magro, of West, won
over Hollander, of East and Jardine, of Kodak, took Stein, of East after six
minutes.
Feary, of Tech, and Holloway, of Charlotte, were both forced to wrestle extra
periods before winning decisions in their bouts. This pair should stage a merry
battle when they meet this afternoon in the finals of the 135-pound class. Felli
of West High and Miller, of Kodak, appeared evenly matched in the 160-pound
class but the judges decided in favor of the West High representative.
In the final bout of the day, Williams, Monroe heavyweight, threw Holland, of
West, in 5 minutes 45 seconds. This is Monroe's only representative in the
finals. Tech and West High have qualified five men each, East High three and
Charlotte, Kodak and Monroe, one each.
