ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Except for two classes, Tech High's wrestlers are favored to carry off
championship honors in the finals in the city individual championship wrestling
meet which will be held to-night at 8:30 o'clock at Tech High. In five of the
nine classes Tech has two men facing second string wrestlers from other schools.
Urbanic and Stendaro, both from Tech are about evenly matched in the 105-pound
class and the outcome of the match is a toss up with Stendaro conceded a slight
edge on account of his decisive win in the first round over Dentico. Stendaro
beat Alcerno, first string man of the Tech team in the semi-final round.
Golamb of Tech is the favorite over Denninger his teammate in the 112 class.
Golamb has won all his bouts in convincing style. He upset the dope when he
trimmed Polito of East in the semi-final round. Robinson the third Tech man to
face a teammate is conceded an easy win over Ebner. He has beaten all opposition
to face him in the last two years.
Feary in Weakened Condition
On account of a weakened condition Feary is not the top heavy favorite to win
over Goodman, another Tech man, as he was a short time ago in the 135 class. At
the start of the meet Feary was expected to have easy sailing to the
championship.
Chepanski of Tech is given slight advantage of Matakie of East in the 175
division. He has won all his bouts this year easily. Matakie has one loss
registered against him. In a return engagement Culver of West pinned him to the
mat. Matakie, however, returned in the city meet to beat Culver by a decision in
the semi-final round.
Rosenthal of Monroe is expected to win an easy victory over Margolis of East in
the 126 class. Rosenthal in the preliminary round did some great wrestling.
Margolis of East, who will face him, is a tough, wiry lad and he might spring a
surprise.
Houghling of East who gained a decision over Cocuzzi of West is conceded a
victory over Schmidt of West in the 147 class. Houghtling is in his first year
of wrestling and in the city tournament showed improved work over what he had
previously shown in the inter-school meets. Schmidt is only a second string man
and he has only an outside chance to win.
Zimmer of Tech who will face Russel of West in the 160 class is also given the
advantage. Zimmer by his victory over Felli who before the City Tournament was
expected to win in a walk, showed enough form to win. Russel is another second
string Occidental.
