ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Tech and East High will vie for individual honors in the finals of the annual
interscholastic wrestling tournament tonight at Monroe High. Coach Hoff will
show his men in three all-Tech bouts. Shop School will also be represented in
three other championship matches. Oriental men will battle in four of the
finals.
Semi-finals and finals will be fought in the 105-pound division. Shapiro, East,
and Kearns, West, battled to a draw after six extra periods in the semi-finals
held last Tuesday at Tech. The other semi-final tilt, between Robinson, Tech,
and Gerbasi, East, was postponed until tonight. Robinson, undefeated this
season, is expected to have little difficulty disposing of Gerbasi, scrappy but
inexperienced Oriental; while Shapiro and Kearns are very evenly matched.
The hardest-fought bout is expected to be between A. Mitrano, undefeated East
grappler, and L. Roberts, husky Charlotte man, but the Lakesider has exhibited a
new bag of tricks in the tourney and should cause Mitrano plenty of trouble.
E. Urbanik and A. Stendardo, Tech men, will battle in the 105-112-pound group.
Stendardo won the title in the 105-pound section by beating Urbanik in the
tournament last year.
B. Bell, Shop School wrestler, will have a tough fight on his hands when he
tackles C. Dentico, Oriental, in the 112-118-pound division. Dentico wrestled
all season in the 105-112-pound class, but could not make the weight for the
tourney.
Kelly Favored to Win
Plenty of action is forthcoming when "Red" Kelly of Charlotte, and Margolis,
East matman, clash in 118-126-pound bout. Margolis was runner-up for the
championship of this class last year.
Two star Tech men will meet in the 126-135-pound tilt. Spronza has easily won
his way to the finals and has swept aside all opposition in the Interscholastic
Wrestling League; while Goodman battled in the next higher class all season.
Russell, West, and Reddy, Tech, will be evenly matched in the 147-160-pound fray.
Russell, runner-up last year, beat Reddy in their only encounter, but Reddy has
improved since, defeating Lapi, strong East man, in the semi-finals.
Oriental grappler, Millard, who has made his way to the finals without engaging
in one match, will find a tough opponent in G. DePrez, Tech man, in the
160-175-pound bout. Millard won over DePrez, in their one league encounter.
Smith, winner last season, will encounter Lanzafame in the unlimited division in
an all-Tech fracas.
