ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Participants in the city interscholastic individual wrestling tournament will
swing into action in the semi-final round at the Franklin High School boys'
gymnasium this afternoon. Tech High, winner of the interscholastic league title
and victor in the majority of the nine individual crowns last year, has a man
enetered in each class of the semi-finals and two defending champions. The
competition is unusually keen this year and Coach Hobart Hoff's men may be
forced to take a back seat this time.
Four men will be out for a second interscholastic crown this today. Edward
Aratari, of East, 112-pound class; James Gala of West, 135 pounds; Frank Reddy
of Tech, 160 pounds, and Jerry DePrez of Tech, 175 pounds, will be seeking
victories today in an effort to get a chance to defend their titles in the
finals tomorrow.
Sam Polis of Tech, 118-pound division, and his brother Tom, 135 pounds, will be
seeking double laurels this season, as they won the Y.M.C.A. amateur
championships Saturday. Sam Russo of Benjamin Franklin, 126 pounds, took the
city crown but lost in the first round of the scholastic tourney Wednesday to
DeFrancisco of Monroe.
Expect Real Action
The 135-pound group promises to furnish the best action with two interesting
battles scheduled. Chuck Geyer of Franklin will meet Tom Polis and Gala,
defending title-holder, will encounter Houle of Tech. Other good tilts should be
Between Dibble of Monroe and Manuele of East in the 105; Bendetto of Tech and
Aratari of East in the 112, and DeFrancisco of Monroe and Ruppenthal of Franklin
in the 126.
The matches will begin at 3:15 o'clock.
