ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

1941-42 Batavia Blue
Devils |
Wrestling is making its debut on the interscholastic sports scene at Batavia
High. The mat men will be instructed by Coach Spaulding on Tuesday from 3:45
until 6:30 o'clock and Thursday afternoons from 3 until 4:15 o'clock.
(PDF, The Batavia
Times, 6/18/1942)
Wrestling was directed by Mr. Spaulding who formed a club open to all
interested. Instruction was given and matches were arranged with the Blind
School Club. Exhibition matches were put on during the halves of the home
basketball games to show the progress made by the members of the club.
Boxing was supervised on an even par with wrestling with exhibition matches
presented during half-time of basketball games. Instruction was given by Mr.
Winters to 7 members of the club. Both boxing and wrestling are destined to
become interscholastic sports in the near future, wrestling having made a step
in that direction this year.
