ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

State School for the Blind wrestlers have returned with two
championships gained at the tournament of Eastern Assn. of Schools for
the Blind in Baltimore, the first such honors in the long history of the
school here.
Titleholders are Edward Harrington of Dansville, who triumphed in the
103-lb. class and Kenneth Wilson of Lockport, crown holder for the
unlimited weight division.
The New York Staters finished fourth in team competition, although they
did not have entries in four of the 11 classes which ranged from 95
pounds upward. West Virginia topped the list with 70 points, New York
Institute for the Education of the Blind, of New York City, was second
with 56 and Maryland, the host school, was third with 53. Batavia
garnered 41 points. Western Pennsylvania, Overbrook of Philadelphia and

Besides the champions, Batavia's Victor Bourgoin of Watertown was second
in the 133-pound class and John Houck of Elmira was third in the
120-pound division.
The wrestling team and chaperones were guests of Rep. Harold C. Ostertag
of Attica for breakfast in the House of Representatives Friday morning
and toured the Capitol under the congressman's direction. They also
visited the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial and had a special
guided tour of the White House on arrangements made by Mr. Ostertag.
Accompanying the wrestlers were Sam Paradise, their coach, School Supt.
and Mrs. Eber L. Palmer, and their daughter, Elice.
It was announced that Batavia will be host to the track and field
tournament of the eastern association on May 11 when ten or 12 schools
will send from 100 to 125 boys here for the competitions. The eastern
region includes Ohio and Kentucky and a number of others who were not
represented in the wrestling events.
