of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Eight
Interscholastic League wrestlers won championships in the Section 5
Class A tournament last night at Rochester Institute of Technology's
Ritter-Clark gym. Competition was in 12 weight classes.
Charlotte and
Marshall each had three titlists. Winning for Charlotte were
Harry Leary in the 103-pound class,
Bill Sile at 127, and Jim
Fardette at 138. For Marshall, the
champions were Bob Alman at 120
pounds, Ben Miles at 133, and
Don Haefle at 165.
The other winners
from the Interscholastic League were Pete Tabone
of East at 112 pounds and Frank Bianchi
of Monroe at 145.
Miles had the
easiest time. He won by default when Gary Tardella
of Mynderse Academy was unable to wrestle because of a shoulder injury.
Webster came up
with a champion in the unlimited division as Ernest Tack
outpointed Larry Pelligrino of
East, 3-2.
Referees for the
finals were Earl Fuller,
Bob Baker and Ed Green.
Mike Spierdowis was chairman of
the event, which was witnessed by an estimated 350 spectators.

Spencerport and
Canisteo grapplers each won three events to highlight activity in
Section 5 Class B wrestling finals yesterday in the Ritter-Clark
gymnasium.
Alexander and
Albion each had two winners, while Perry and Letchworth returned one
apiece.
Harlan Cook of
Canisteo provided one of the highlights of the program, taking the
unlimited division class event by pinning Dave Spierdowis of Albion in
2:15.
