ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Dan Zambito of
Franklin High scored a major upset in the 103-pound division of the
individual Interscholastic wrestling championships last night before a
capacity crowd of more than 800 in the Madison High gym.
The Quaker matman
turned back Richard Smith of
Monroe on the strength of his 5-1 decision. Smith had been unbeaten over
a two-year period and had handed Zambito his only set back during the
regular season.
In a battle of
undefeated matmen in the 127-pound class, Phil Baily
of Madison scored a 1-0 decision over
Nate Turner of Franklin. The
youngsters battled to a draw during the season.
In the 133-pound
division, James Simpson of Monroe
and Glen Cavanaugh of Charlotte
battled to a 0-0 draw, but Simpson grabbed a 4-2 decision in overtime.
The unlimited
division provided the most interesting for spectators, however.
Sal Bentivegna of Madison outpointed
Mike Lopa, 3-2. Bentivegna also
took a one point decision over Lopa during the season.
