Archives

E-mail corrections or additions to info@armdrag.com.

ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.  We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well.  Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years.  In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out.  Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Physical conditioning and intense concentration, coupled with agility and a knowledge of precise holds and escape procedures, are required to develop an accomplished wrestler. Although scoring is kept by team, the individual is all alone on the mat as he faces his opponent "eyeball to eyeball." This is not a sport for the faint hearted; a cool mind and the love of physical contact is required by the wrestling participant.

This is a relatively new sport at Byron-Bergen, but the progress of the boys on the team suggests that our school will prove to be a formidable opponent as time goes on since our team is very young.

The team record has not been very impressive to date, but the individuals on the team have accumulated impressive records. We expect to see and hear exciting things from our "rastlers" in time to come. (Apiary, 1963)
