ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

The varsity
wrestling squad, under Coach Quinn, completed a most successful
year. Not only were they undefeated in matches throughout the
season, but they shut out three of these opponents, a fact that
shows the strong all-around team that was formed this year. Sound
victories over powerful Brighton, Eastridge, and Irondequoit were
further evidences of the strength of this squad.
The team participated in the Auburn Wrestling Tournament during the
Christmas holidays, and Ron Kostecke, Larry Diciantis and Mike
Maxwell carried off individual honors in their respective weight
classes as the team finished second. The team also placed second in
the Monroe County Tournament, with Carey Corea and Larry DiCiantis
finishing first. Tom McGarry, Ron Kostecke, and Joe Vergo were
runners-up, and Jim Tortorici and Bob Cialini took third spots by
virtue of their victories in the consolation bracket.
Special congratulations go to Mike Maxwell who went through the
entire season of dual matches without suffering defeat. |
