ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Senior Tom Ciaccio led Bishop Kearney to
the Upstate New York Catholic team wrestling championship yesterday at
Bishop Kearney as he won his fourth state title in as many years in the
123-pound class.
Kearney's grapplers racked up 101 points in the tournament to finish
ahead of second-place McQuaid, which had 78. Binghamton Catholic Central
was third with 46, followed by St. Mary's of Cortland with 28, Cardinal
Mooney with 22, and Notre Dame of Elmira last with 21.
Bishop Kearney's matmen won eight of the 12 individual championships,
while McQuaid copped the other four. Kearney also had three runnersup in
the classes it did not win.
The victors' Art Rogers was awarded the outstanding wrestler trophy for
the tournament. McQuaid's Tom O'Connor, a sophomore, won the award for
most pins.
Winners for Bishop Kearney were Pat Walsch, Ciaccio, Jay Oberst, Rogers,
Greg Brown, John Numetko, Laverne Dickinson, and Tony Joy. McQuaid's
champions are O'Connor, Paul DeFelice, Dave O'Neill, and Dan Iles.
