ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.  We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well.  Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years.  In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out.  Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

The Wrestling team of 1967-68 fought their way through the toughest competition in the Wayne-Finger Lakes League and came out undefeated. The matmen completed their domination of area wrestling by capturing the Section V title and sending two wrestlers to the state championships.

A strong nucleus of Lettermen led the way to this outstanding season. Seniors Al Tiberio, Bruce Trumbull, Tom Cook, Bob Bradshaw, and Dick Hadsell were Wayne-Finger Lakes champs, with Hadsell taking Sectional honors. Other WFL champs were Gary Gustin, another Section V titleholder, John Miller, and Jim Hunt.

The reasons for the team's tremendous success were: desire, effort, ability, and Coach Weldon Canough. Indeed, Coach Canough and his wrestlers have done a superlative job for the sport of wrestling and for Canandaigua Academy. (Academian, 1968)
