Lyndonville’s Win Fourth In Row Batavia Daily News Monday, February 23, 1976 The Lyndonville wrestling team captured its fourth straight Genesee Region League crown Saturday as it led Elba, the second place school, by 15 points. Lyndonville grapplers won three individual titles and two others were in the finals. Lyndonville hosted the competition. Most valuable wrestler was awarded to Carl Engert of Holley in the 119 weight class. He decisioned Keith Whipple of Kendall, 11-8, in the finals. Whipple was the Section 5 champion in the 112 weight class in 1975. Only two pins were registered in the final rounds of the individual championship. Hank Conradt of Kendall pinned Harold Suhr of Lyndonville at 177 and Carl Weinert of Byron-Bergen pinned Bruce Stisser of Barker in the unlimited contest. Unlimited did not count toward the team standings.
