ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.  We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well.  Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years.  In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out.  Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Lyndonville’s Win Fourth In Row

The Lyndonville wrestling team captured its fourth straight Genesee Region League crown Saturday as it led Elba, the second place school, by 15 points.

 

Lyndonville grapplers won three individual titles and two others were in the finals.  Lyndonville hosted the competition.

 

Most valuable wrestler was awarded to Carl Engert of Holley in the 119 weight class.  He decisioned Keith Whipple of Kendall, 11-8, in the finals.  Whipple was the Section 5 champion in the 112 weight class in 1975.

 

Only two pins were registered in the final rounds of the individual championship.  Hank Conradt of Kendall pinned Harold Suhr of Lyndonville at 177 and Carl Weinert of Byron-Bergen pinned Bruce Stisser of Barker in the unlimited contest.  Unlimited did not count toward the team standings.
