ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives. We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

1981-82 Greece Arcadia Titans Varsity Wrestling Team

Building Stength

The wrestling team, coached by Tom Vergo, had a building season. They ended with a record o three wins, ten losses. There were quite a few first year wrestlers and a number of meets were lost because of forfeits.

There were many wrestlers that had impressive seasons. Among these were Tony Giarratano, Mike Phelan, Steve Scipioni, and Steve Opeczewski. Each of these four ended with winning records. They also made All-County, with Tony Giarratano and Steve Opaczewski placing third. Mike Phelan ―― fifth, and Steve Scipioni ―― sixth. Each were seeded in the Sectionals. (Arcadia yearbook, 1982)
