ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

The J.V. Wrestlers began the 1985-86 season with one of the
largest and youngest teams ever at K.C.S. After losing the two early
meets to Hilton and Lockport, the J.V. Grapplers won 9 contests in a
row before losing to Pavilion. The team finished second in our
league and also second in the Batavia Christmas Tournament. Many
eight graders were approved for this year's team and Jason Kurtz,
Jim Soules, Scott Lasal, Wade Murphy, and Frank Trigg proved they
were ready by compiling a combined record of 18 wins and 16 losses.
The team demonstrated steady6 improvement throughout the year as
first year wrestlers Dan Renz, Eric Yarid, Reggie Robinson, and Pat
Regan improved greatly. Several of the wrestlers had outstanding
individual seasons as Wade Murphy and Rich Bent placed second in the
Batavia Tournament, Scott Mallon and Shawn Murphy placed second in
the League Tournament, and while Rich Bent won the League
Tournament, Roger Reis and Todd Forkey won both the Batavia
Christmas Tournament and the League Tournament. Roger and Rich had
the most wins with eleven each and Todd Forkey finished the season
undefeated. Many of the J.V.s were called on to fill in on the
varsity team throughout the year and while Scott, Todd, Frank,
Shawn, Rich, and Dave Bannerman did a good job in varsity meets,
Darren Fry and Chris Utter finished the season on the varsity
line-up. Overall it was a very successful year for the J.V.
wrestlers and with the potential and attitude of this year's team,
the future for wrestlers at K.C.S. looks good.
