ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Palmyra-Macedon finished a perfect season by edging Newark for the Class B
sectional wrestling championship late Saturday night at Geneva.
"Another one like this may not come along," Pal-Mac Coach Fred Ciaburri said.
The Red Raiders won all 14 of their dual meets, the Finger Lakes East team
championship, and all four of the tournaments they entered before they captured
the school's second wrestling title Saturday night.
Chris Fancis (167 pounds) and Dennis Horton (105) won individual Class B titles
to lead Pal-Mac. Horton defeated Wellsvill's Mike Santon, 7-3. Francis built an
18-1 lead before his bout with Judd Brown of Eastridge was ruled a technical
fall at 5:35.
Two Red Raiders, Ralph Brongo (91) and Chris Van Gorden (132), lost in the
finals. Derrick LaRock (98) and Shad McDuff (126) placed third; Chad Samson
(119), Dave Dennie (155) and Zach Wert finished fourth.
Pal-Mac placed nine wrestlers in the semifinals while Newark had five but all
five Reds advanced to the finals.
Newarks' Jason Sutton (91), Tim Steingass (98), Eric Swan (132) and Pablo Rojas
(250) won sectional championships. Eastridge's Hakan Dilek defeated Mark
Johnson, 5-3, in the 145 final. Bob Farnsworth (105) finished third and Dave
Robbins (215) was fourth.
Eastridge's Frank Trigg earned a technical fall over North Rose-Wolcott's John
Johnson at 5:05 of their 138-pound final to remain unbeaten and untied.
Midlake's Bryant Ranger boosted his record to 35-0 and won his 143rd career bout
when he captured the 112 championship by pinning Waterloo's Jason Knisely in
5:29. Ranger is a past 98-pound Class B sectional champion who lost to North
Rose-Wolcott's Gary DeCarr in the 119 final last year.
DeCarr successfully defended his 119-pound sectional championship with a
technical fall over Livonia's Dan Sweet at 3:44, and Victor's Dan Payne defeated
Wellsville's Brian Gray, 5-2, in a much-anticipated 155-pound final.
Dilek took Johnson down with :40 left in a very competitive 145 final to earn a
2-1 edge over his opponent this season.
Newark's Corey Corner, who would have been seeded No. 1 at 177 pounds, was
academically ineligible for Saturday's sectional meet but has been granted an
at-large berth at 177 in this weekend's SuperSectional state qualifying meet at
Webster Schroeder.
