ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Union-Endicott Dual Meet Tournament Summary
By
Justin Basch, exclusively for
ArmDrag.com
UNION-ENDICOTT - After upsetting number 2 ranked Valley Central in the
semi-finals, Wayne got a chance to become the number one team in New
York State.
In the consolation finals, Valley Central defeated Minisink Valley for
the third time this year. Valley Central had to wrestle without one of
their key players Ed Bordas at 215 lbs. Valley Central came through
though for a 3rd place finish as they beat Minisink Valley, 34-24.
Spencerport defeated Greece Olympia (44-9) and Minisky Valley (36-9) for
a re4turn to the finals in the 20th annual Union-Endicott dual meet
tournament.
After being defeated in the finals last year by Johnson City,
Spencerport wasn't going to settle for a second place finish once again
when being capable of better. It was tied up 24-24 going into the last
match when Alex Baxter pinned Grant Garnett in 29 seconds.
Here's a match by match rundown:
103 lbs. -
Eric Piedmonte (Spencerport)
defeated
Steve Singley (W) with a final
score of 5-1.
112 lbs. - Spencerport’s
Dereck Gray pinned
Vinny Bianchi (W) in 5:07.
119 lbs. – Even though Wayne weighed a kid in and announced him as
wrestling, Wayne forfeited the weight class to Spencerport’s
Bryan Bourne.
125 lbs. -
Josh Patterson (W) defeated
Spencerport’s Jason Woodward, 5-0.
130 lbs. -
Luke Baum (W) narrowly
defeated Brett Woodward (Spencerport), 3-2.
135 lbs. -
Alex Pagan (W) was too much
for Spencerport’s
Dan Tomasso to handle. Pagan
defeated Tomasso 5-4;
140 lbs. -
Nate Patterson (W) continued
to show his dominance in Section 5 as he pinned Spencerport’s
Adam Snook in 3:30 after a
takedown to the back.
145 lbs. -
Mike Terenzi (Spencerport)
continued to show his excellence and dominance as he defeated
Casey Hedadorn of Wayne via
technical fall, 17-2, in 4:05.
152 lbs. -
Ryan Lamagra (W) rid out
Mike Collura (Spencerport) in
double overtime to defeated Collura 1-1.
160 lbs. – Spencerport’s
Matt Legas’s speed, talent, and
excellence was too much for Wayne’s
Mike Scheidt too handle. Legas
defeated Scheidt to remain undefeated 4-1.
171 lbs. – In a very high pace match at 171 pounds, Wayne’s
Joe Zazo defeated Spencerport’s
Sebastian Baliva, 3-1.
189 lbs. -
Mike Johnson of Wayne scored one
point by escaping in the second period and held on to 1–0 lead to defeat
Jared Plucknette.
215 lbs. - The match was tied at 24–24 and it was up to Baxter or
Garnett to seal the victory for their team. Spencerport’s
Alex Baxter remains undefeated as
he pinned
Grant Garnett in a mere 29
seconds.
