ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Following Saturday's Section 5 Class AA semifinal round, Spencerport held only
an eight-point lead on Brockport for the wrestling title. However, the host
Rangers ended up placing 13 wrestlers to the Blue Devils eight, and went on to
retain the sectional title.
Spencerport amassed 250 points as Brockport was second with 221 points.
Penfield, which will advance nine wrestlers to this weekend Super Sectionals at
Fairport High School, took third place with 162 points.
"It was great to be in this atmosphere with the Spencerport fans, " said
Penfield head coach John Leone, a former assistant at Spencerport. "We were in
several head-to-head matches with them, which was invaluable. We'll take that
and learn from that, which will make our kids even better. "
Co-sportsmanship awards went to Penfield's C.J. Fogle and Fairport's Sean
Sechrist.
Wrestling coordinator Jason Bovenzi, who also is the Pittsford head coach, was
impressed with the tournament this year.
"I was very proud about the finals at the counties and the Class AA sectionals,
" he said. "I thought the production (drum line) that Spencerport put on at the
start of the ceremony was second to none. It was a first-class production here.
A great experience.
"We're excited about the guys who are going to the state qualifier and hopefully
we'll put together a nice team for the state tournament. "
Brockport's 215-pounder Alex Nwaehujor won the 145 to 275 weight class
Outstanding Wrestler award.
Pittsford's undefeated wrestler, Kyle Borshoff, earned his 38th straight win of
the year capturing the 130-pound weight class. He also received the 96 to 140
weight class Outstanding Wrestler Award.
"He's just been so consistent, " Bovenzi said. "He's a four-time Monroe County
champion and a four-time class sectional champion. Without wanting to jinx him,
we're going for his third Super Sectional title right now. That's what he is
focused on right now. He set high goals for himself. He's wrestled some of the
top guys in the country and been able to compete with them.
"He's focused right now to try to distinguish himself as one of the great
Pittsford wrestlers. He wants to be their fourth New York State champion. "
Placing second for the Panthers were Corey Borshoff at 112 pounds; Kenny
Woodward at 275 pounds and CJ Howard at 96 pounds.
Cam Kelly at 103 pounds and Chris Henderson at 171 pounds placed third for
Pittsford.
Devin Kelly finished in fifth place at 119 pounds for the Panthers.
The class champions were: 96 - Trevor Irwin (Brockport); 103 - Alex Marianetti
(Athena); 112 - Ryan Nicoletta (Penfield); 119 - Torsten Gillespie (Schroeder);
125 - Mark Ranzenbach (Hilton); 130 - Kyle Borshoff (Pittsford); 135 -
