ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.  We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well.  Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years.  In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out.  Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

For wrestlers in Section 5, everything came down to last weekend at Fairport High School.

The Super Sectionals was the last chance for area wrestlers to continue their season. Winning their bracket was the only way they could qualify for the New York State Championship.

Spencerport's Bryan Bourne won first place at 152 pounds defeating Geneva's Nick Fratto in the finals 5-1. Bourne defeated Eric Kennel of Irondequoit and Hilton's John Veleri to reach the finals.

Churchville-Chili's Mike Castro edged Webster Thomas' Matt Caternolo in the finals at 275 to win first place. Caternolo defeated Newark's Matt Blamble and Rush-Henrietta's Mike Heath to reach the finals.

The two qualify for the state championship Friday and Saturday at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale.

Spencerport Justin Linville reached the finals at 171 pounds after defeating Irondequoit's Don Podlish and Geneva's Josh Bloom. Linville fell to Josh Patterson of Wayne in the finals (pin at :55).

Spencerport's Mike Hicks won an exciting 3-1 match in overtime against Thomas' Kevin Sackett to reach the finals (140). Greece Athena's Brandon Volpe defeated Hicks in the final (3-1).

The Rangers' Chris Collura lost by tech fall (22-7) in the final at 130 against Pittsford's Kyle Borshoff. Collura defeated Wayne's Chris Marvin and Hilton's A.J. Machemer earlier in the tournament.

At 103, Spencerport's Matt Piedimonte began the tournament with a 4-0 win over Dave Leberth of Wayne. Piedimonte lost to Brighton's Zach Ellis in the semifinals and defeated Nick Hibbard of Canandaigua to earn third place.

The Rangers' Chris Vigliotti (145) finished 3-1 at the tournament, losing a tight 3-2 match against Brockport's Justin James. Vigliotti defeated Penfield's Jeff Goff with a pin (3:10) to win third place.

Spencerport's Nick Terenzi (112) defeated Canandaigua's Cory Mahoney 5-4 in his first match and took home fourth place. Terenzi lost to eventual champion Ryan Nicoletta (Penfield) in the championship round.

The Rangers' Anthony Borzilleri (119) fell to eventual champion Dan Mandara (Canandaigua) in a close match 5-3 and finished in fourth. Borzilleri defeated Thomas' Lexi Romero 12-1 in his opening match.

Spencerport's Matt Spezio (135), Ben Lambiase (189) and Dave Inclema (125) each wrestled at the Super Sectionals.

Paul Glover represented Gates Chili at 171 pounds. Glover lost to Josh Patterson of Wayne and Anthony Sargent of Brockport in the tournament.
