ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.  We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well.  Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years.  In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out.  Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

The I.H.S. Wrestling Team remained a county power as they took second place with an excellent 10-3 record. Worked into top form and taught their tricks by Coach Art Connorton, the team displayed an amazing resource of individual talent. County champions and first team All County members were: John Olesiuk, 98 lbs.; Lance Whipple, 130 lbs.; John Griffin, 136 lbs.; and Don Menges, 183 lbs. Paul Kramer and Marty Diaz were selected to second team All County, while Bill Ralston and Ralph Brandt achieved honorable mention. Seniors who ended their high school careers with outstanding cumulative records were Bill Ralston, 30-8; John Griffin, 54-6; and Don Menges, 62-7. In recognition of their superior ability and achievement John Griffin and Don Menges were nominated for High School All-American, a rare honor to be accorded to any athlete. (Neodaondaquat, 1966)

Coach Ken Slater's Junior Varsity Wrestling Team has been the foundation of our fine varsity team. This year's team, composed mainly of freshman, compiled a respectable 7-6-1 record against teams that included sophomores and juniors. Grapplers like Dave Flowers, Scott Lynch, Gary Zweig, Tom Horner, and undefeated William Holland helped Irondequoit to compete successfully in the rugged Monroe County League. (Neodaondaquat, 1966)
