Pembroke, champion of the Genesee Region, completed a 13-0 season with its 17th straight triumph, 33-22, over Akron in a non-league match. Pembroke, coached by former University of Buffalo mat-man and ex Sweet Home assistant Bill Jacoutot, rallied from a 22-9 deficit to win the last four bouts by pins. Randy Dibble (24-1), Brian Baker, Pete Grodem, and Bob Gervasi strung together the four falls. Akron, led by unbeaten light-weight Rusty Bower, was 6-8.

Pembroke rolled to its 16th straight dual meet victory and its 11th of the
season Thursday by defeating host Lyndonville 61-6 in Genesee Region League
wrestling.
The Dragons, who finished at 10-0 in the GR regular season and stand at 11-0-1
overall, were led by Scott Humel, Brian Baker, Pete Grodem, Tim Baker and Dan
Rupe who all had pins.
Dan Wetzel, Randy Dibble and Al Caci won by superior decisions and Brian Gazda
earned a major decision.
Dibble has gone through 26 dual matches without losing while Brian Baker and
Wetzel mach are 11-1 this season.
Pembroke will praticipating in the GR tournament next Friday and Saturday at
Byron-Bergen, and will meet Akron in a non-league meet in two weeks.
